Another book from the yardsale. This is a classic coming of age story set in turn of the century England. It has all the elements - the hero is an orphan, he has a disability, he has to attend boys school (you can't have your pudding if you don't eat your beets!), he studies philosophy in Germany, art in Paris, falls hopelessly in love with a prostitute. You name it, he did it. A very good read about a great character. The drawback of course is that it is as long as the S encyclopedia.
