it was ok

I really had no idea what to expect when I picked up Unqualified and read that it was a book on relationship advice from an author going through her second divorce. Honestly, I picked it up because Chris Pratt wrote the foreword.

So much of her advice seems to come from a cynical, selfish place. She has a very low opinion of men, which she can’t seem to figure out why she expects them to be so bad. She makes claims like “they use varied language to describe this problem, which is one we’ve all had” when talking about hooking up with a guy who doesn’t seem to like you as much as you like him. She goes as far as to say that it is something “all young adults have to go through (it) before they become a proper human”. You can find these on page 249.

I found a lot of her advice and commentary to be quite arrogant in tone. Sure, she is funny in spots and I could relate to some of what she was saying, but there aren’t enough of those to merit a recommendation.
