Looking for a fun adventure? Then Fool's Gold written by PJ Skinner is the book for you. This story is about the feisty, somewhat rebellious geologist, Sam Harris. Looking to gain more experience in the field she meets up with Mike Morton, who wants to hire her to go along with his project manager to review their exploration projects in Sierramar in the South American jungle. Sam can't resist even though she's told she won't be paid a salary. However, it would afford her the field experience she's looking for.
Once there, she meets Wilson Ortega, a geologist from Sierramar whom she will have to work alongside and who becomes a vile antagonist as the story unfolds.

Taking some snapshots, Sam unknowingly snaps a photo of a snake and when Alfredo Vargas, a drunken treasure hunter sees it, he reveals that the stairs behind the snake is a cipher and that it was the key to a lost treasure. It was after making the decision to go in search of the treasure that the excitement and intrigue begin to heat up.

Skinner does a great job fleshing out her characters. They are real and relatable. It's an easy read and full of adventure. I'd recommend this book to anyone who has an adventuresome spirit and likes a strong female protagonist.

“Yes, I hope so.  Sam might have discovered the resting place of the lost treasure of the Incas.  Imagine the historical value of a treasure like that,”
