really liked it

4.5 stars. Fantastically well-researched book on the Golden State Killer (/East Area Rapist/Original Night Stalker), written with incredible detail but also humanity and evocative detail, as well as an insight into the author and what it was like to become obsessed with this (until recently) unsolved case. Incredibly sad that after dedicating herself to the investigation for years, she didn't get to finally see a very very credible suspect arrested, but extra interesting to read in this context and see how the details fit together and how close they got in terms of geography and predicting the way he'd be identified.
