it was amazing

Best Sci Fi I've read in a long time. Oftentimes the stories are variations on common themes in sci fi, but the author is so smart, so good a writer, and frequently has a novel twist on the old themes that I don't mind at all. It's like rediscovering an old friend and finding him more interesting now than way back when. I learn something with each story and, I suspect, I might learn something more with each new reading.

Favorite quote thus far: "For the first time, he knew night for what it was: the shadow of the Earth itelf, cast against the sky."
