really liked it

I love Chuck Klosterman. Like, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Almost as much as I love Murakami and Vonnegut. So, it bothered me a smidge when his first foray in fiction was received with a little thud and not a resounding roar. This book is teeny-tiny short, and I struggle to rate it because though I super enjoyed reading it, and I thought the premise was intriguing, I'm unsure exactly how I feel about it.

Perhaps this was done on purpose. The idea of an "invisible" protaganist is jarring, creepy, and invasive. After finishing the book, these feelings sort of remained. I felt jarred, creeped out, and slightly bewildered. Is this a making of a great book? Not sure, but it is the making of a great story.

Highly recommend it. Dee, this one's for you. Your assignment: read it and we'll chat about it in a couple of weeks.
