it was ok

I expected something more from a book that has an overall rating of 4.40 stars on goodreads.

Sapolsky has an engaging writing style, but the book was surprisingly light on baboons for a book that is subtitled, "A Neuroscientist's Unconventional Life Among the Baboons." Which is a shame, because the baboons were by far the best part of the book. Sapolsky is pointlessly crass throughout the book and slides into cultural insensitivity (at the very least) when he strays from the baboons and shares experiences about the natives in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Sudan.

Jelena I beg to differ. Re-read that title please. It's about A NEUROSCIENTIST'S UNCONVENTIONAL LIFE among the Baboons. It's not titled ALL ABOUT BABOONS and some anecdotes about studying them. I think you got the wrong impression because you didn't read the title closely enough. If you understand the title, you may understand why most people give this book a 4 or 5 star rating.
