I liked this book for its realistic, non-anthropormophic treatment of the relationship between a human and a Bengal tiger, in an entertaining Robinson Crusoe-like story. Some parts of the novel were overdone, in my opinion, in terms of certain drawn-out story lines (e.g., the protagonist's religious experience)and violence which, at times, seemed gratuitously graphic. And I found myself largely skimminng the last section of the book, which seemed repetitive and tedious. Overall, however, I enjoyed "Life of Pi," and would recommend it to anyone interested in an exploration of inter-species relationships.
