This was recommended to me by a friend and it sounded absolutely delightful. I was incredibly intrigued with the historical account of Alice and kept researching along the way to find which parts of the book were historically accurate. (It is a novel; not a historical biography.)

Amazingly, Melanie Benjamin weaves a fantastic tale, taking the real-life accounts of Alice and creating a beautiful story. It's essentially three sections: when Alice is a little girl, then a young woman, then an old woman. My favorite part was definitely the mid-section when Alice is a young woman.

I felt like the story became much less interesting towards the end and, unfortunately, had to push myself to finish it. The last section seemed to move slowly and the storyline became boring.

Regardless, it was a good read for the most part and I did thoroughly enjoy reading the novel version of the real little girl of Wonderland.
