Darius the Great Is Not Okay (Darius The Great, #1)
by
by

Darius is awkward and sweet and suffers from clinical depression, and has a hard time making friends. He feels like he never lives up to his dad’s expectations, and feels disconnected from his mom’s Persian heritage. When his grandfather is diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumor, his parents take Darius and his sister Laleh to Iran for the first time. Darius once again feels out of place at first, but learns to be himself with the help of his first real friend, Sohrab. A very honest account of mental illness, friendship, and learning about where you come from. I loved his grandmother! Ages 14 and up.
