Skullduggery Pleasant is an adventure into another world. When young Stephanie Edgely inherits her uncles estates after his death, she finds herself on a mission to save the world from impending doom. She isn't alone in her quest. She has Skullduggery Pleasant as her guide and together they seek to save two worlds from evil. Only one problem the Evil One is trying to kill her and her sidekick Skullduggery, but then he is already dead.

This book is reminiscent of a another popular series with a boy wizard. The story is high action, good vs. evil and full of interesting characters and challenges. Middle school to high school age students will love the smart aleck "style" of Skullduggery himself and the venture into another world.
