Personal response: I really disliked Hogwarts School of Prayer and Miracles by Grace Ann Parsons. The author just took the names of the characters in the original books and changed everything about them. I would not read more by this author.
Plot Summary: The book starts out with Harry and his family- the Dursleys- making breakfast. While making breakfast, Hagrid stops in and tells Harry that he is accepted into Hogwarts. Harry goes with Hagrid to Hogwarts, and leaves his family. At Hogwarts, Harry meets Professor Dumbledore and his wife Minerva. They have a child named Hermione. Harry instantly likes them and has dinner with them. The next day Harry got to choose his hat, which meant what religion he would practice. He picked Gryffindor, which is the same as Dumbledore and the rest of his family. Harry also made a new friend named Ron who is a Slytherin hat. Throughout the story, Harry tries to convert Ron to Gryffindor. Harry is told by Dumbledore that Voldemort is trying to make Christianity illegal. This angers Harry and the rest of the students at Hogwarts. Voldemort then comes to Hogwarts and is defeated by Dumbledore and the whole Christian faith is saved.
Recommendation: I would not recommend this book to anyone because it is nothing like Harry Potter. I think the author should not have used the characters from the original Harry Potter books and instead use different names. I would only recommend this book to people who are very religious or who do not enjoy the original Harry Potter books.
