A pretty standard rom com set in NYC, which was exactly what I was looking for! Marriage of convenience (for immigration)! Broadway musicals! Sex-positive 25-year-old writer heroine! A swoon-worthy Irish musician hero! Gay uncles! I am realizing the fake relationship trope definitely does it for me. My only complaint is that the moment of them finally getting physical / aka dropping the pretense of the fake relationship was a bit anti-climatic. I mean, I'm also aware that this book is about very privileged people and the details about immigration are surely not reliable or realistic, but I was able to suspend my disbelief. For love and musicals.
