Read from December 16 to 20, 2011

A girl could easily get twisted up over a sexy cowboy like Justin, and Ella is no exception. Their long distance affair has consisted of several sinful weekends together, plus a lot of phone calls, e-mails and texts to stay connected in between. Ella’s first marriage was a bust, and even though she’s crazy about Justin, she’s afraid of getting too close. A girl must protect her heart, after all.

Justin can sense Ella backing away from him, and he’ll have none of that. After all these months, he’s ready to make a bold statement and let her know how he feels. He turns on the charm and persuades her (with playful threats of kidnapping) to spend a hot and kinky weekend with him at his home in Texas. In addition to the blazing sex, it’s time to lay the emotional cards on the table. Are two days enough to finally break through Ella’s walls and find out why she’s holding back?

TWISTED UP is a very hot read! Justin and Ella are down-to-earth, likable characters I could easily connect with, and the chemistry between them was sizzling. They did have their differences, but that only made their relationship more real. The story itself focuses on one pivotal weekend in their relationship, but Lissa Matthews did a great job weaving in their backstory. It’s obvious what they shared when deeper than the physical; they had a strong emotional connection too. The sex scenes were scorching, with some kink and a fabulous toy added to the mix. Did I mention the bright green rope? I give TWISTED UP 4 stars!
