This is a little slow-paced compared with A Storm of Swords but I still enjoyed it. Martin gave a view of Dorne, Bravoos, the Vale and the Iron Islands--these introductions to new territory and people in the middle part of the series made A Song of Ice and Fire lose slight momentum. However, the readers by this time also probably need some break from the wars; in this book, the wars didn't stop but the fights are not that grand as the focus is on the quest of some characters. The adventure is nonetheless still satisfying.
