did not like it
bookshelves: upscale-youngadult

Still currently reading, but this book bugs me for a few reasons:

1. The rampant, repeated, and relentless misuse of "shall." Arrggh.

2. One character is described as being "handsome," then immediately the author goes on to describe her delicateness as if she's made of ivory. To me (and most, I'd wager), handsome equals strong, solid, substantial. Earthy, not ivory.

3. The narrative threads that run between dialogue seem disjointed, as if the character is saying one thing and means something else (beyond the obvious; I mean, what would teen fiction be without a certain amount of misunderstanding?) or their actions are incongruous with the scene or the dialogue. Weird.

4. Man, is it some overwrought melodrama.

I'm sure I'll have more by the time I finish it!
