really liked it

A satire on modern society and the environmental crisis we now face. Everyone's ignoring Babshoook's data and continues to butcher the natural world in order to preserve the life they are convinced by the top dogs (or moose) they want.

I found it a little hard going at first as I always do with satirical or comic writing such as Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett. (Readers who like these writers should give this one a go.) After I got into the style, which is very well written, I found I couldn't put it down. It's well thought out and paced nicely so that the ending gets quite tense. I loved the characters too. Particularly Raoul and Taboook.

Though it's light hearted it is also quite grim in parts too. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to read something a bit different. It's commentary on society lands very close to home and it's concern with the natural world is uncomfortably relevant.
