really liked it

Look, it's definitely not the same quality as the celebrated Williams and Blackman run, and nothing ever will be. Even disregarding the comparison, the story here is muddled in places, and it reads like it'll be better in retrospect once Bennett and Tynion's whole story is done.

But I don't believe it's as terrible as a lot of reviews are making out. It's a refreshing change from the plethora of garden-variety Bat-stories happening right now; great as those are, it's nice to have another option. Steve Epting and Stephanie Hans present artwork that's especially gorgeous (not as much a fan of Renato Arlem's go at it). As a jumping off point for new readers, it's certainly a challenge. But I feel it's the beginning of something great.
