Appreciate it for what it is: a grist-mill pulp novel built on clever marketing (and in this case, a comics series). But it was fun and, at times, surprising. Well-written. Not really going to appeal to those who aren't fans already, but if you like Star Wars you'll get something from it. It's set about 5000 years before Phantom Menace, so it's neatly in the "pre-history" category.
