it was ok

Girl is brutally raped and murdered then spends the next several years observing, from heaven, the lives of her family and friends--and even people she didn't really know that well when she was alive.

This book starts out OK...and goes nowhere from there. I get that it is suppossed to be about the ripple effect of a single, defining event. And, it is. It has some interesting moments, but is just didn't hang together well. More than anything, however, I was irrevocably put-off by some disturbing and highly questionable actions--and I mean on the part of the "sympathetic" character--not the guy who murdered her.

Perhaps the author just tackled more story here than she should have. Parts of this material really did feel like it belonged to another story altogether.
