"That is the way of being a woman, to carve away at herself, to fit herself to the task, but, also, to be able to carve herself in a different way, when a different shape is needed"

A hard book to read and even harder to rate. I like books that make such bold statements though it made me feel sick reading bits of it (the majority of it tbh).

It could have been a five-star read unfortunately I found it quite predictable from the very beginning. And the ending was satisfying but... Not enough for me considering all the horrible things that happened to Ama! I wanted more.

Apart from that, I loved the writing. It reads like a fairy tale. Also, this book is highly quotable.
