A quickie read that's an entertaining overview of the history of what's under the streets of London. I learned a few things here or there, but mostly had my interest piqued by the topics covered in short chapters -- such as the archaeological finds during the construction of new buildings, the Tube and other excavations and how the Underground became a sanctuary during the World Wars. I jotted down a few titles from the Bibliography for further perusal of the topic.

Worth at least a library read if you have an interest in the history of London and/or underground constructions.
