10/31 - Won this on First Reads.

11/17 - Received book today.

11/28 - I didn't realize this was an Amish book when I entered the giveaway, so I was a little leery of how it would be, but it was quite pleasant. A cheesy read in a lot of ways, and predictable. However, it was still a nice, light, fast, clean read.

I was left confused at times as some of the characters appeared to have been from a previous book by the author? And also a lot of the Amish ways in the book are different from what I thought I knew or just weren't always explained by the author. It left me feeling the need to research the Amish more.

I did enjoy that 2 of the cakes Mattie bakes in the book had recipes at the end of the book (although one of them did not have the chocolate ganache that is mentioned in the story). Overall, again, a good, clean, fast read, probably 3.5 stars.
