when I first read a review of this book, I was reminded of "Life of PI". Both books would require quite a stretch of the imagination to read. It has been over two months since I put my name on the waiting list and I had forgotten all about it until the notice came that the book was now avaliable to me.

The book is OUTRAGEOUS! A blurb on the back said that some readers may be insulted by the book. Insulted, no, but grossed out, yes. As it turns out, it was worth the wait. The only criticism I have of the book is that, at times, the author becomes just too descriptive of surroundings. I found myself eventually skimming over those parts. Other than that, I thought it was well written and the 500+ pages flew by. a good read
