Stephenson, why you so wordy?

I did enjoy this book but it is SO LONG, and it really didn't have to be. I think that all the parts that dealt with the details of T'Rain, how it was created, how it was run, and how it was played for real money were fascinating. The following terrorists around the globe and reading endless details about how they confined people in RVs or locked them up with chains, or on airplanes really not so much.

The body count is extremely high in this one - almost felt like a Robert Ludlum with high casualties.
