I couldn’t resist that one. Not that anybody should be surprised.

Basically, it’s a condensed version of Richelle Mead’s novel. If I agreed with the choices the authors made, I had a kind of bumpy, rushing feeling while reading it. The transitions were not that smooth and it’s really going very fast. It’s kind of hard to capture the atmosphere of the novel in those conditions.

I had trouble at first with the setting. It sounded kind of didactic to me. I know it was necessary, this world is not that classic, and it had to be explained. But anyhow... I also thought that Lissa was a bit off, but we can easily distinguish the characters and if you’ve read the book, you will easily recognize them. I especially liked the graphic representation of Rose. My personal – and very imaginary – representation of Dimitri was better – of course... too bad I can’t draw – but this one was also okay ;)

A fun read that sticks to the novel. I’ll read volume 2.
