Oh god this edition is gorgeous. I already own a hardcover of Mythology but I’m so tempted to get this one now...

Oh gosh! I remember reading this in 8th grade. It was a good one ;)Lucky duck for having this edition
@Lunastellar I think that I read it around that time, too! (I had formerly been a Robert Graves’ Greek Myths snob lol) Thanks!!! If you wanted to give yourself a pressie, this would be a great choice! ;)
Mina wrote: "The illustrations are gorgeous."Aren't they? There are ten fully-coloured "plates" that were specifically commissioned for this 75th anniversary edition, but there are also cute illustrations on the pages themselves throughout the volume. :)
LOL! I can see how you'd get distracted from hw :P I'm definitely going to have to snag a copy of this sometime. Too pretty not to own!
Yessss! Now I want to make a bookstore run even though I'm already stressed about money xD Book purchases make everything better. Always.
@Lynn Honestly, that’s probably what I’m going to do on Friday. I need to de-stress after a week of papers and exams. 😭 And books are my therapy!

Awww! That makes me SO HAPPY! <3 I almost left it behind at Barnes and Noble initially because it was really expensive...but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Every day since I've bought it, I've pulled it off my bookshelf to flip through for a few minutes. :D
Also, I don't know if you're a Percy Jackson fan or not, but...there are two mythology collections (Percy Jackson's Greek Gods and Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes), which although told from Percy's point of view, are gorgeously illustrated as well in the same vein as this collection! <3
Jennifer wrote: "Edith Hamilton is THE BEST and I love this book."YES! She's my second-favourite mythological historian! <3

Really? How much did it cost at Barnes and Noble? I bought it for 28€ on amazon, which wasn't much for me because there are very few beautiful books in France and they cost a fortune... (when I told my mum the price, she was like O_O) I was a little scared before I saw the price and really relieved I could afford it.
Ah, I told you once remember, I never read Percy Jackson (and everyone who read this is like "there are people who didn't read Percy Jackson? what the hell?") I'm so glad for you those books exist, they must be amazing! I should really read it one day, seriously.
Who's your favourite mythological historian?

Well, on Amazon, it was being sold for $20 with free shipping, while at Barnes and Noble, I paid $30 (plus tax) for it. By itself, it's not that expensive, but in conjunction with purchasing Muse of Nightmares, it starts to add up lol. Also, I'm a broke uni student, hahaha! :P (Which is why...like a genius...I plan to go to B&N on Friday...AGAIN) xD
I'm sorry! I forgot! :P I've got literally every published Rick Riordan book. He and Cassandra Clare dominate my bookshelves, haha! They take up an entire bookcase in my room by themselves! Let's see: Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Greek mythology), The Heroes of Olympus (Roman mythology), The Kane Chronicles (Egyptian mythology), Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard (Norse mythology), and The Trials of Apollo (Greek/Roman mythology). I read Percy Jackson around the time that I read Harry Potter, so there's definitely that nostalgia factor for me. I hope that you love them when you get to them though!!! <3
Definitely Robert Graves! While his "Greek Myths" volumes aren't that easy to get through, since they read like a textbook, I like that he provides sources as well as various interpretations of every myth, so you can choose the one that you like best. Out of him, Hamilton, and Bulfinch, he definitely comes across as having done the most thorough research. Admittedly, when it comes to reading the myths for fun, I do enjoy Hamilton, as well. But when it comes to looking for a specific myth, Graves is my go-to, since he's got the most myths in his volumes. Hamilton and Bulfinch only present the most popular ones, while I've yet to find a missing myth in Graves' volumes. If you don't have a copy, I have this edition: The Greek Myths. It's pretty old though, so I don't know if it's out of print or not. :)

I feel you lovely, I'm broke too (obviously) and I keep buying books. What else can we do? Life without books isn't worth living for me (and no guys, I'm not being dramatic).
Wow, those are a lot of books! But I admit that it seems interesting. I'll probably read them one day, yes.
Oh yes, The Greek Myths! I have the french version and I haven't found a better book about greek mythology. I love it too! You have great taste ;)

Was that dramatic? Because I feel the EXACT SAME WAY! Why would you go on living if you don't have books?!
Why, thank you! ;) As do you! Graves knows his stuff! :D

That book looks gorgeous! I'd buy it if I could afford it. A book like that would be worth a lot of money in Canadian dollars.
@Tiffany Awww maybe save up for it? In US currency, it was $30. Canadian prices are usually only about two or three dollars more, as far as I know. :)
