it was amazing
bookshelves: fantasy-noir, ya, urban-fantasy, favorites, epic-snark, love-this-girl

It's been a long time since I read a pulse-pounding, hands-shaking, stomach-dropping story climax like this. And it even wrapped up the way I [secretly] hoped. I mean, holy shit. This is some of the best storytelling I've come across in a long time. The last time I felt this shaken by a climax was James Bradley's WRACK. Even CHANGES (Dresden #12) didn't make it to this barreling-toward-the-light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel gut-twisting adrenaline-fueled I-can't-put-this-fucking-book-DOWN irrational-need-to-use-too-many-hyphens intensity. (Sure, THE LAST WEREWOLF knocked up on it.) Jesus, L. You've done a hell of a job here. I really wish there was a more-than-5-stars option, because if any book ever deserved it, this one did. This whole series was just mind-snapping amazing.
