really liked it
bookshelves: 2012, memoir, non-fiction
Read from March 30 to 31, 2012

I love Diane Keaton and enjoyed learning more about her life and career. The inclusion of her mothers letters and journals interested me as a lifelong diarist, and inspired me to write more about my early life, not just my present life.

I think some will be disappointed that Keaton wrote a memoir that spends a lot of time musing on her regrets and demons (bulimia, self-doubt, insecurity) as opposed to one which entertains her readers with fabulous stories. I think her account is honest and from what I've learned about her family, I'm not surprised that she spends a lot of time in her head.
