really liked it

Initially this book was a little hard for me to get into. There was a lot of jumping around, and what seemed to be excerpts from various literary works and official documents, from different time periods and characters. Essentially, the book focuses on polygamy in the Mormon church -- when it started, when it was removed from the official doctrine, and the practice in modern times in small, closed, extremist sects. Much of the book is based on real historical characters, although all of the documents are the author's fabrications or twists on actual writings. Once I was able to follow what was going on, I really enjoyed the story. It was a little long, at over five hundred pages!
