Oh wow, I really enjoyed this one. The relationship between Max and Alexander is just so swooning for me. He's so alpha yet he's not like the others and doesn't attempt to push Max around. Not that she'd let him but he is so wonderful at letting her be her - standing with her but isn't afraid to let rein her in. He's just so delicious. And those two together.... Sigh

Max is terrific - strong yet despite herself, she's very caring. I love how she takes in strays and none of it ever lessens how strong she is. Which she has to be if the indications for book 3 ring true.

The ONLY thing I got really tired of is her constantly calling him "Slick." It was like, enough already. I think I'm supposed to find it endearing but for me, it just got annoying. As did her need to tag everyone she meets with these terms - skippy, Dippy and so on. Just got old. But it wasn't enough to infere with my enjoyment of the book and series. I cannot wait until the next one! I'll need my Alexander fix.
