After hearing about this book on NPR and being a dog person, I decided to read this book. It was an interesting mix of information. Although the book revolved around Rin Tin Tin and the dogs who portrayed him over the years, it focused more on the people whose lives were devoted to him and his legacy. Also sprinkled in was information about how dogs position in family life evolved since Rin Tin Tin appeared in silent movies; dogs involvement in war; and dog training. This book dragged in a couple places. I can't say it was a great book. But if you're a dog person, it's worth the read.
