Katy's Reviews > The Namesake
I have to say that I am in awe of writers who can write about a relatively ordinary person's life and make it compelling. There are very few writers who can do this effectively and Lahiri is definitely one of them. I will confess that I wasn't as impressed with this novel as I was with her two volumes of short stories, but still, even her less impressive work is more impressive than most of the stuff I read.
