first in series and first read by this author.

Miranda is an author, following a brutal email from her publisher, she is given two options...write a different genre of book or get a new publisher.

frustrated by her choices and unsure if she can write anything but her 'safe soft romances, the genres suggested to her, she knows very little about. she decides to put her options on hold and go speed dating. following a chance encounter with a lawyer named Spencer, Miranda sees things potentially looking up on a number of levels.

Spencer introduces her to his gay friend corbin, to gain insight and knowledge in to a gay relationship. what Spencer forgets as a friendship develops between Corbin and Miranda, is that he soon faces is being outed by his own secrets. harming the fragile relationship that he and Miranda are building.

I adored the gay couple, Corbin and Mark, they had such moments of beautifully written intimacy both sexual on non sexual that were done so brilliantly. Equally Spencer and Miranda frustrated me, Miranda's was so naive at times but also so confident..her character gave me whiplash but that in itself isn't a bad thing because she was written as and like a real person with good points and flaws.

looking forward to continuing with this series.
