After Duran's latest release, A Lady's Lesson in Scandal which,I loved, I was looking forward to this one. A Gerorgian setting after Queen Anne has passed and there is a political split causing dangerous times for John Stewart supporters. Nora Colville finds herself widowed and managing a family estate while her father ran off to France for asylum and her brother being tracked by Nora'sformer neighbor and lover, Adrian Ferrers, Earl of Rivenham.

This set up starts the book off with a bang. I have no complaint of the writing itself but rather the heroine and her potential hero. Neither are characters that are likable, especially Nora. So for now I am DNFing this book that I had such high hopes for. It's more pleasant reading about likable characters or characters that redeem themselves. At the moment I am not invested enough to continue further.
