it was amazing

I wasnt too sure what to think of the finale of this series when I bought it. I had it on my shelf (along with Stonewielder) for a couple of months now. Book 9 was so grim that I wasn't sure if I could handle book 10. But I summoned up the courage to go for it, as after all, whats another 400,000 words of slaughter, dark humor, and more tragedy than triumph?

And there was plenty of that this time around. But this time around there was something else, that even though there shouldn't be any hope, there WAS. Something kept the protagonists going, when all seemed lost. Steven Erikson saved his best book for last. And then nearing the end, he turned on the afterburners and delivered a world of emotion. I was literally crying the last 40 pages or so, both in sorrow and joy.

One of the best books I have read in a LONG time.
