You definitely don't need to be a history buff to enjoy this book. The best thing about this is that it's written like a novel, full of mystery, adventure, and conspiracy, and yet it's a true story. The book holds your attention.I learned more about the Lincoln assasination and the chase for John Wilkes Booth and his accomplices in the conspiracy to murder the President, Vice President, and Scretary of State than I ever realized existed.

Swanson has a magnificent way of using writings, quotes and other primary sources, and weaving them wonderfully into the rest of the book to create a story-like feel.
