Two middle aged women friends stumble upon a murder investigation in a small South Carolina town in their efforts to find a "fun" hobby for one of them. Maggie and Cher are as different as two female buddies can be, yet best of friends. In their pursuit of collecting local rocks, they accidentally witness a murder. As the clues mount, it turns out that Cher has a tie to one of the suspects and both women go into overdrive to gather evidence to exonerate the young man.

This is an engaging series. Maggie and Cher are both very likeable and there is a large cast of unique characters to increase the suspect pool. The plot has many twists and turns and I was kept guessing as to the actual villain right to the very end.
