did not like it
bookshelves: young-adult, fairy-tale, fantasy-scifi
Recommended for: no one

Do not read this book! It is the most aggravating book I've ever read. I picked it out because I love one of the author's other books, Beauty. Both are retelling of fairy tales. This one happened to be 420 pages; only 150 of which were useful. Seriously where were the editors on this one??? I became attached enough to the story I just tried scanning as much as I could so as to not miss the plot. I think the plot was good - the other junk was too much to handle! (i.e. after she found out she was a princess it was almost 4 pages of her just talking to animals!!! pointless!)

Hilary LOL! I too enjoyed Beauty and then picked this book up thinking it would be similar. Ya, way too much description in this book. I have a hard time skimming or skipping things, so I kept thinking, come on, when is something else going to happen!?!? You're hilarious, Kristine!
