In the second book in the Secret series, Cass and Max-Ernest gain a new friend and Terces Society teammate, Yoji (who goes by Yo-Yoji), an electric guitar player who's great at martial arts. The three of them again go up against the Midnight Sun, who are trying to make the homunculus rise. Apparently the study of alchemy, which the Midnight Sun is devoted to, is also concerned with creating a man in a bottle (yeah, sounds weird to me, too). This small man/creature is called the homunculus. They call him by using the sound prism, an object that plays a mysterious song. The story is a little less cohesive than the first book, but no less fun to read.
