Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this one like I thought I would. It's been on my shelves for years... I'm a huge Jane Austen fan so I tend to accumulate books like this one. My main problem was that I found the author to be so annoying! As this book is part memoir, it's tough if you don't even like the author. Also, I think the book could have been about half as long as it was. The lessons he learned from Austen's books were vague and repetitive. Also, there was so much plot recapping of her books! I've read all of her novels multiple times and I feel like most people who would read this book have too. We remember the stories!

So it wasn't bad but I had to make myself finish it. Also, I thought his belief that nobody could love both Austen's novels and Jane Eyre was ridiculous! Then he ended up his Austen book with a Jane Eyre reference. Hmmm....
