it was amazing

This is a great book, easily one of my favorites from Eric Carle. It teaches a number of great lessons for young children -- about being kind, that if you go around looking for a fight you'll get one. So it's more than a picture book with a cute story. This is a book every parent should read with their kids. My son loved it; I loved it. An easy five stars.

After reading it, I was a bit appalled to see that the two most recent reviewers claim the book glorifies fighting. Really, anyone who comes away thinking that didn't understand the moral of the book. It's a great opportunity as a parent to sit down with your child and talk about bullying, which affects most children to some degree. It opens up a dialogue. That's what kids need to be getting out of it, not "oh noes, fighting is b-a-d."
