really liked it

I actually listened to this as an audiobook before I listed to the audio for "Dexter in the Dark."

The interesting thing is, while in "Dexter in the Dark" has a supernatural element that carried over into "Dexter is Delicious," not knowing the details behind it didn't greatly affect my enjoyment of "Dexter is Delicious." Where, for me, that supernatural element was a huge stumbling point in the previous book. It affected how I viewed Dexter, and in some ways minimized my idea of the character. It seemed like a cop-out in some ways.

It makes me wonder if Jeff Lindsay also realized he'd made a mistake with "Dexter in the Dark" and decided to play it down in subsequent books.

As always, the writing here is engaging and the twisted nemesis Dexter must go up against is compellingly bizarre. It's certainly one of those tales where you have to know what happens.
