I cried so hard reading this book. The loneliness of the main character jumps out at you. In fact don't go try to do something happy when you're only a third of the way through this one. It's a better cover-to-cover read. I know, because I was an emotional mess when I had to go to work, and all I could think of was how sad and lonely and awful it was to be the heroine. Maybe I identify too much with the books I'm reading... But when I do, I know the writer is fantastic. But of course, with Dessen, I already knew that.
