I would give "Faulkner's Rosary" two stars out of five. While I enjoy reading poetry and am open to all kinds of interpretations of the art I found the poems in this collection to be lacking something. The themes that are hit upon in the poems include childhood, sex, birth, motherhood, and family. Some of the selections are very creative in their approach with a kind of musical quality to the work, which equates to a good flow to some of the poems. However some of the poems are sort of bizarre and hard to follow. I believe that the author tries to hard to use metaphors to express feelings, many of these attempts will go over the readers head. In summation, although the reader can tell Sarah Vap tried to be creative, and in some instances succeeds, many of the selections are a little to abstract for my taste. Perhaps others will find more meaning in the poems than I did.
