really liked it

Avery Baker has just inherited her Aunt’s cottage off the coast of Maine as well as a new found love for home renovation. But, when Avery and her boyfriend Derek find the bodies of two women floating in the sea near the island and a mysterious room in the house leads Avery to find more than just ‘potential’ hidden behind the walls of the centuries old home, Avery quickly realizes she is uncovering more than a mystery. She’s discovering an island’s deadly secrets.

This cozy mystery novel was my introduction to the Avery Baker series and I must say I loved it! I really loved the backdrop of the novel and the history of the house and the island. I found it not only picturesque, but also very purposeful and intricately tied to the mystery itself. But, don’t worry; this cozy still manages to deliver a gripping storyline.
