really liked it
bookshelves: young-adult, good-read-recommend

This story was a light, easy read that I would have labeled as fluffy had it not been for the underlining story of her father's death.

There were a couple of things that bothered me - her mother's reaction to her 'detour' - IDK. You'd have to be pretty cold-hearted to do that. I don't want to spoil it, but as a mom, I don't think I'd be so irresponsible to do that. What if something had happened? If they hadn't met some of those people along the way?

The secondary characters were entertaining and well paced. I enjoyed the book & thought it was a nice easy, quick read.
