Swoon (Swoon, #1)

Nina Malkin's storytelling style is unique, if not a bit odd, but it works with the premise of the book. Dice is a transplant that is trying to adjust to life as someone with an unusual gift. She has made friends in the small town of Swoon, CT, but her cousin's possession by a ghost makes it impossible for Dice to hide what she can do. I liked the story and I liked the love story between Dice and Sin, but I had some trouble connecting with the characters. I never really felt that Sin had qualities that were redeeming enough to make me really want him to succeed. I also thought it was a little unrealistic to think that parents would leave their teenage daughter to live by herself in a house after what she went through. Despite some of the holes, it was an enjoyable read.

I see you gave it the same rating I did. I'm curious as to what you'll think about Swear.

This whole series is so weird. I don't know how else to put it. Also, holy casual drug use batman. Yeah, trying crystal meth is no big deal. WHAAA????
