Here's a question. Have you ever talked to a black person about race? Like had an in-depth discussion that lasted hours and hours?

If you answered no, you should probably read the book.
Your hypothetical question carries no weight in your effort to pretend like it's some mind boggling statement where reversing the title of this book causes some to gasp, have an epiphany, and rethink their position.
Sorry this book makes you feel attacked on a personal level.

White people don't face negative stereotypes? Really? You all have already deemed him a racist because of his comment, yet you know nothing else about him and nothing he said was racist or hateful. White are constantly deemed:

racists
oppressive
micro aggressors
selfish
descendants of slave owners (forget the fact that the majority of whites never had ancestors who owned slave, or that blacks participated in the slave trade, there were black salve owners, and the African tribes enslaved one another long before colonialism.
To have an easy and privileged life, even if the opposite is true.
To be hate mongers
Cultural appropriators (whites aren’t allowed to have a culture, much less show that they like or respect other cultures)
Thieves (especially when it comes to the westward expansion of the U.S. But whenever a white person gets something, there is always someone else accusing them of stealing it.)

This is moronic. The title is purposefully 'controversial'. If you read the book, you would understand that first, Eddo-Lodge featured the title in a blog post where she just said she was tired of 'mental acrobatics' with rigid white people. Secondly, you would know that actually she does not stereotype. She explains that there is no hostility behind her title because she knows that not all white people are ignorant or supremacist. Thirdly, are you really being offended on the basis of your race? Really? Your whiteness is so fragile you can't face somebody else's truth?

Read the goddam book before being unnecessarily offended and angry. If you don't like the book, then go ahead with negative comments backed by reason and your logic. But this comment is illogical, and frankly aids the message of Eddo-Lodge. So really, bravo for cementing that.

I would just suggest reading it before posting your reactionary review and imagining that you’re being discriminated against. Did it not occur to you that the book actually *is* talking to white people about race and that perhaps the title might mean something? You hardly have to read any of the book to find that out.
It’s unfair to give a book you haven’t read one star just because you don’t like its title.

Look at the titles of the books in your own reading list before you start complaining about the titles in another's reading list. *eye roll* FYI, books are always judged by their titles.

Have you actually read the book Ian? It’s hard to imagine that if you had read it you would still come out with that view. The first page of the book explains straight away that the author doesn’t mean “all whites people” she means a specific group of white people who don’t believe race is an issue or who come to the discussion thinking both sides have the same power. If you look past your offense at the title and read it which only takes a couple of days you could be really enlightened, as I was.

Imagine missing the whole point of the damn book... LOL get the hell out. And close the door on your way while you're at it.
