it was amazing

My kids love this book. Lola is a bit too proud of her extraordinary wool. She excludes everyone in favor of brushing it over and over, proud the other sheep think it's beautiful. Then she gets the inevitable shaving and goes off to pout and wait for it to grow back. Quite unexpectedly she becomes the caretaker and friend of a bird who happens to love her messy tangled wool as a place to keep warm. Eventually Lola forgets about having the gorgeous wool and looks forward to having more and more opportunities to make more friends. I love the change in the home illustrations from beginning to end. First Lola has a picture of herself on the wall and no place for friends to sit because her giant mirror is in the way. In the end, the picture changes to one of the bird with a couch full of friends. This is a great book for teaching the joy of looking outside of yourself. Beautiful pictures, too. The bunny is a bonus.
